The other morning, I was awoken at 3am with the car horn on continuous blarrrr...

I went down, unlocked, opened the door, closed and reset the alarm.. No further issues.

Because I had been having regular horn parps whilst driving, I reseated all the cables connect the *siren (as its marked) and hadnt had an issue.. until...

yesterday, whilst at work, I went out for a ciggie and heard my car screaming, in fact, it sounded like the horn was on its last legs, so opened closed and all ok..

Today, I walked over to the car. walked around it and again off it goes.. So went in, grabbed my keys and by the time I get back, all is quiet.. I get in, try the horn and its dead... Checked fuse under bonnet and it's blown!!

My question is:- On looking under the hood, on the left hand side under the battery is something marked Siren.. Is this the Horn?

I am going to pull it out and put it across the battery to see if it still works ok. If it does, which I expect it to, tryingto find a fault is going to be a nightmare, any ideas?

Thanks

Tim

yer might want to try this especially if yer bin through a car wash or yerv had heavy rain. take the relay out and dry the contacts and get a hairdryer down the relay socket to dry out that aswell.

course it might be something more serious but shirley worth a try

Thanks..

Will give it a go, might even replace the relay just in case its gone dodgy

Will let you know

Tim

hmmm, are you talking about your horns which are located on the inside of each headlight by the rad's OR are you talking about the siren thats near the fusebox??

-Wills :)

This is the question.

Are there seperate horns. I thought I only had the box marked Siren located by the fusebox.

So the horns are located behind the headlights.. I will check these out then (when I find them)

Popped home lunchtime and fitted new relay, also I found the horns ;) (thanks for that)

Just need to pull them both out and give them a damn good clean. Looks like they have been through the wars.

Shall be busy this weekend then

Ah so you think its the horns then?? :) The siren sounds like an alarm when its goes off, it changes pitch etc whereas the horns are just a continuous tone.
