Hello again, more probs again. In for a penny in for a pound I suppose. On the way home I noticed there was no hot air coming out of the heater. It didn't matter if I varied the temperature very little changed. Also the red light came on at the temperature gauge, it never moved off the cold mark. After standing still for a couple hours the temperature gauge reverted back to normal but it was still blowing cold air from the heater.
The car is an 02 Disco ES, automatic TD5. Any ideas where I should start to trace the fault, e.g. changing the coolant etc?

Ta'

Have same as you both car and intermitant problem of no heat, all I do when it happens is top water up (Antifreeze mix), happens every couple of months only top up about a pint each time but do worry where water is going. Had head gasket done this time last year as she was blowing loads of white smoke out the back. I have no white smoke and no visible sign of a leak. Is your water level low?

I had these exact symptoms on a BMW, It was the thermostat stuck open/ or closed?, whichever it was a cheap part and a half hour easy job, . maybe same on disco, i don't know... get a haynes manual....
