Damage to Bracket Aux Mounting at P Gasket?

Hi all,

I am half way through fitting a new P gasket and I have everything stripped down. I have cleaned up the faces and noticed that the face on the Bracket Aux Mounting is quite rough, certainly not a clean machined finish. There had been mastic used, but the old gasket was the tin kind, that didn't look too bad (I mean not new, but still in one piece).

What do I do put it back together and see what happens? I guess if it still leaks I'll have to get the face machined...

Suggestions?
