dam thing won't start!!

Hi everyone...

Sorry, not really sure if I am posting this in the right place....
I have a series 3 109 sation wagon lhd Petrol and it wont start, well....
I started it and was on my to the shops when out of the blue it died... thought i might have run out of petrol. so after a long walk back home got ito my other car and went to get petrol... after putting 10L back into the landy it still won't start.
It will turn over once and then die. sometimes rev a little and then die.
could anyone give me some suggestions on whats the problem might be..

A few basic checks are required, is there a gap on the points, any loose connections, is fuel lift pump working? Try hand priming the pump to see if it delivers fuel to carb, if not turn engine over 1/2 a turn and try again. Whilst you are looking at fuel pipes is anything to close to heat source to vaporise the fuel. Where are you?

when was it serviced last mate?

Had the same thing a few weeks ago, turned out to be a knackered coil but as has been said check the basics first eg fuel/points/condenser. It will be something simple!
