300TDI DISCOVERY, Not got a great deal of power despite having re done all the hoses cleaned all the filters had a full service and been re m.o.t'd..( STILL CONSIDERING THE PETROL BOMB AS A WAY OUT) . So here we are sat at a junction . barely an incline at all, in drive.. more or less tick over revs and instead of trying to creep forwards as they usually do , mine is trying to sneak off backwatds.... RELUCTANT DISCOVERY EH?
IS THIS JUST A BAD ENGINE? (127,000) OR A BAD GEAR BOX? (4 speed auto ) Has anyone got any ideas ?(other than the afore-mentioned petrol bomb).

It really tees me off cos so many of our horse and pony mates have discoveries and they just go , they just get in and take it for granted the thing will just work. but mine.... nothing ever works,, it s a weekly fight to get something to do what it should, And we still cant pull two 12 hand high ponies in a twin trailer up the hill out of Glossop

Mine was a bit sluggish thro the box and also crept backards on a slight incline until I dropped the gearbox fluid pan and changed the internal filter which was clogged full of what looked like cat hair!!. Fresh fluid inserted also and all was well. Don't know if this is of help but the pan on mine hadn't been off for I don't know how long by the look of it. 24K filter changes recommended I think in the manual.

It goes from bad to worse;
Just discovered..hmm bad choice of phrase, that the m.o.t was done by a blind pixie with a hangover, it has seized brake calipers, the horn wasnt even wired up and the rear discs are red rusty inboard. The water pump has just started to chirp, the turbo is blowing oil through it and the cat is clogged.

Now all this is because the girls wanted a pony ride three years ago!!! Be warned keep girls well away from ponies the peripheral costs are a nightmare ..

So.. any of you trade people got a turbo, rear calipers. water pump, rear discs, pads?
Where is it all going to end?
