Hi everyone,

Posted on here in the past and got some really useful replies, thank you!

I have a D4 and when the weather is hot the steering shakes (very slightly but v annoying) on the motorway. When it’s normal weather, perfectly smooth. I have no idea why this might be!! The only thing I could think of was on a hot day the aircon is on?! Wishbones renewed recently, Hunter road force wheel balancing completed last week, all wheel bearings and ujs checked, it even passed the dealer “health check” where they try to find anything possible to repair!!

Just wondered if anyone had any ideas at all… the only other thing to mention is every time I have new brake discs (4 sets so far in 2 years…) they’re fine for 4 months then the steering wheel begins to shake on braking.. a lot. This seems a separate problem to the shimmy on hot days though!! Calipers checked too…

Thanks a lot everyone,
George

If it keeps needing discs I would say next you need to try wheel bearings.
Problem with the cassete bearings is they have to be literally shagged before they show any play or make any noise.
