D3 Possible warranty claim?

ere ya go - its not bootiful - but it will work. It cuts power to Starter relay, Glow plug timer, Fuel shut-off solenoid and Charge and Cold start warning lights. so these lights can be used to confirm circuit is live (or not).

be warned - the circuit is ONLY live when a magnet activates the reed switch.

Is there any way to have it latching, so you just have to swipe the magnet across it.

knowing my luck the magnet would fall off so imobilising the car whilst driveing?
 
yes. latching is not a problem EXCEPT that you will need to turn it off before yu leave the vehicle, so necessitating another switch. - just mount the reed relay on a piece of steel.

if you are worried about the magnet falling off - go for another type of switch. - but I thought the magnet idea appealed, because it was not obvious.
 
Here is a version using a 5A fuse to enable the circuit...... but dont forget a thief mite have a piece of wire - unlikely to have a magnet!

Wow some people are massively over-sensitive, think he had a sheltered up-bringing? He'd even asked for an honest opinion too which cracks me up - be careful what you ask for... you just might get it. :D

You still haven't answered my question .... can I claim under warranty for the diesel disappearing from my tank every 500 miles or so ?

It's costing me a fortune .... well, it WAS costing me a fortune, but I bought 1,000 litres of nice clean used veg oil for £100, and now I am making it into BioDiesel. TD5 runs a treat on this stuff. Total cost to buy and make it is under 30p a litre.
