Hello.

Just joined the forum. Just sold my second D3 which I used primarily for green laning. Great truck (it was cheap to buy too) but a bit too reliant on electronics for my liking. Had a few SIIIs before which the kids loved and now on the lookout for a Defender. It will be a weekend toy for greenlaning and a few camping trips with one of the main criteria being that the kids can climb all over it:).

I almost bought a '99 td5 90 but it was heavily modified with a few issues so walked away from that one. A 300Tdi 110 is my ideal so will post some pics as and when I find one.

Welcome to the mad house.

Good luck with your search.

Hi and welcome!

Good luck with the search. Don’t forget some decent security measures for the new Landy too when you get one.

Thank you.
Must confess, security measures were not only radar but that does seem very sensible so will make sure they are the second purchase.
Quite a few vehicle options out there right now. Choices, choices. Not sure if I want a van or station wagon at the moment. I really liked being able load up the D3 with people and stuff but when it came to offloading there was only ever two people in it. I am leaning towards a van and then do a mild camper conversion in the back.
Never having owned a Defender before it can clearly be a minefield. I have heard that the most expensive thing you can buy is a cheap Defender. I am happy working on a vehicle and did some major jobs on the last series land (front 1/4 chassis, engine etc) but I think I would rather spend a bit more and get one with a sound chassis and running gear. Cosmetics and engine would come second for me I think.
Anyhow, the hunt continues and I shall keep you posted and hopefully be a Defender owner soon.

Well, I am off to collect my new 110 300tdi on Saturday. :)
It's in the South West so a bit of a road trip for me and the boy, should be fun.
