Hi all.
I have a discovery 2 v8 auto.

I have recently bought it and have changed all oils.
I find that when I’m driving it it seems to struggle going up through the gears. It seems to need to be reved up high to change the gears and once in the next gear it seems to jump down the gears. Also sometimes when driving I can’t get over 3000 rpm. I’m lost on what is the issue.
Help.

Hello and welcome:)
was the auto box fill with the correct procedure,
Hi. Yes it was. It ran really well after the oil change. It has been stood up for a week and went to drive it today and went back to what it was like before. Could it be low on oil that causes this ? Thank you for the reply

I am not that good on auto boxes as mine is manual but i know there is a correct way to fill and check the oil level that a lot of people dont do.
Best to ask in the Disco section of the forum

If it is like the TD5 auto box, you need to get the engine running, go through the gears and then, with it in Park or Neutral, take out the filler plug and fill it until a steady trickle comes out.
But then the box may be entirely different and this could be bullsh!t. Don't know and have yet to look at Rave to see the correct way of doing it, for a V8.
Do you have Rave?
