hi all,

been a while but in 3 years of D2 ownership, I am now £15k into it. Most spent on repairs and a little on suspension/tyre mods. EVERYTHING has been done on this truck and still it lets me down! Aaaaaarghhhhh.

I have a new quirky problem that has developed in recent weeks and I am desperate for some views please

Recently I noticed that after getting up to engine temperature, it would drop down at a junction and go back up again. replace the sensor and now it flatly refuses to get above 58-60 degrees C (reading based on my Nanocom output). The needle on the dash gauge is barely above cold and it is baltic in the cab. There is some heat but it does not correlate to the temp on the display. I have turned it right up but it makes no difference in temp.

I have run it down dual carriage ways, on country roads with and without revs but it just wont budge.

It had a new T/stat in January this year.

Could it be a t/stat issue or are there any other likely places to look?

Thanks

Sounds like faulty stat.

thanks mate. I started to take it apart today but couldn't get to the very irritating clips on the hoses so have ordered a set of hose clamp pliers to wrestle it again tomorrow ! Was worried I would go through the pain and still not resolve it.

I went for these ones just based on delivery. Hopefully they wont snap! Amazon product

I have two pairs, one at home and other at work, cant believe they are still going, dont use them often but are a time saver when I do.

Snap on tools do a posh version, 120 plus vat to you sir!

just to let you know that I changed the thermostat and it has sorted it, so thanks for the guidance. Had to take it apart again to tighten the clip around the water pump end of the t/stat. And low and behold I have noticed this morning it is still slightly leaking but not from there!
