D2 - interior

Morning all.

Joined this forum years back when I had my first LR love, my old 300tdi (RIP).

Have now rejoined the fray with a more daily driveable TD5 ES manual in bonatti grey which I practically stole at auction with 130k on the dial.

Mechanically it's perfect, but the previous owner I think may have used it as a kennel and feed store; the seats are ruined. This has been accentuated by my old man's purchase of an older but better nick D2 in which the seats have never been sat.

What options are there to restore the leather? And whilst we're at it, headlining too.

Hi mate and welcome, here in Norfolk you find a lot of farmers landys wrecked inside usually looked after mechanically, pressure washed, etc. I would source replacements if parts are too far gone ( evilbay or gumshoe) you can even change the colour. Google leather restoring/cleaning and give it a go see what happens. Head linings can also be sourced but you need to collect and check yourself (for oily fingerprints etc) but they are not too hard to fit, source the worst bits first. I sold my td5 about 3 years ago wife liked it more than D3 looking for another good luck TY

Thanks mate, been looking over evilbay but haven't seen anything worth having just yet.
Pal of mine has a handful of D2s in varying states of decay, one of which has a mint ES interior which I may end up borrowing for an extended period, if ya catch my drift!
