I recently replaced the front prop on my RRC 200tdi (same as Disco 1) after it finally gave up. The new prop cured the mystery wobble under acceleration and at some speeds, which got slowly worse over years until it totally failed! That was a few months ago. Anyway, in the last week I’ve noticed a rubble at 70-75mph which feels like something in the drive train, rather than wheel balancing. I checked the front prop and there’s some play on the sliding spline joint. The truck has a two inch lift, and the prop looks quite extended. I think it’s been stressed and worn excessively. Do you agree? I think I should fit a prop spacer, but how big? I’ve seen 15, 20 & 30mm. What do I need for a two inch lift?
Interested in your thoughts. Thanks
