d-i-y reset eas not working

bought leads of ebay and downloaded programme for d-i-y reset of air suspension via my laptop followed all steps its giving me fault diagnosis and is cummunicating with programme fine but just will not reset any ideas?

Dan, I don't know how the reset works (which wires are used), but I would check the lead (with a multimeter) you purchased against the wiring diagram for the lead to be used with the program.

Just in case there is a damaged connection/wire (link below), stopping you to programing in the new settings .

PS. Are you using serial or usb socket?

I don't know too much about Land Rover ECU's, but if the EAS has a legitimate fault, isn't it possible that as soon as the fault is cleared by the user, the fault detection system immediately sets it again ?

I've just bought myself an OBD2 lead off eBay with the intention of leaving it in the glovebox along with my old Toshiba Libretto "just in case". If I get a chance I'll have a play and see how the system reacts (unless someone here already knows?).

now done it! played around with the laptop a little, port setting was wrong or something now reset it and all back up and working as should really chuffed no more dealer visits for resets for me!

I too have been trying to set up the EAS program just so i know it works when the time comes! Now i can only get my lap top to com with the eas when the engine is running and i can read the height senors and raise lower the car on the lap top. now my understanding of the software is that it should run without the engine on IE position 2 which i do not seem to be able to do anyone else come across this?

The first covers EASunlock Software operation, the second EAScalibrate Software operation. They are interesting and well worth watching as they explain it all at a sensible "base" level.

There's a load of other good stuff there as well ........

The software should be able to read the setting and possibly alter the settings.

But normally don't you need the doors closed and the engine running for the eas system to adjust the ride height, why should it be different when setting ride heights?
