Head gaskets as well as new cylinder head, radiator and caps, thermostats, waterpump, turbo, head bolts - this motor has now blow 5 times. It happens very suddenly and each time it sounds like an explosion - one it shot the radiator cap clean off. Each time the problem re-occurs within 2000-3000km. Diesel pump and diesel injectors checked as well as diesel pump optimised. The mechanic and engineering works have no answers. Genuine land Rover parts used throughout. Anyone any ideas??

I would bin it and get another engine sometimes its not worth the hassle.
Especially one thats been overheated so many times.

you seem to have overlooked an element here. have you had the block face checked? i would say the block face needs decking or better still fit a recon engine

Yes, I agree - block face and/or the face of that new head.

Is it beyond possible that the first time (after the new head) was down to a fitment error, which then knackered the head ,,,which has caused all the subsequent instances.

Or, that head was 'off' when you bought it
