My Discovery has the curling dash top, by the windscreen.
I see there is a repair kit on eBay, has anyone used this kit and is it a good fix.
Or is there anything else on the market.
Thanks

If what u have seen on eBay are the shaped strips of metal or plastic with a bag of screws, then I think that is all there is, something that was produced for the early RR and the 200 series disco as it wasn’t an unknown issue, so dash top even being changed under warranty back then I believe.

If your issues is with what looks like a 300 series, then its rare for the dash to lift, the dash top was modified for the later model.

Those are the kit's I was looking at, so they come in metal and plastic then.
It's a 94 300 TDI with the airbag in front of the passenger. Looking at pictures, it seems that those types of dashboard are the problem ones?

Well its a long while a go but I have a feeling that LR produced the part in metal then other people got into providing copies in colour coded plastic, they didn’t work very well.
That was before forums so the info was from the LR magazines of the time.

Ok, I will have a trawl through Google to what I can find.
Forums are so good, the information can be sooo handy and can save you thousands.
I'm on a few and the info and banter is great.

I fitted the plastic trims to my Disco 1 many years ago.
Works really well
Tip—-to get the screws to bite into the plastic use a power driver with a flexible drive.
Need the speed and also better access behind the instrument cowl.
Remember to let us know how you get on

That's good to read, I will of course put photos up when completed.;)
Hopefully, because it's hot now, the dash will softer.

I have tried fitting the trim today, with a powered flex drive. It's as if the screws are not long enough though.
I will have another go tomorrow.

Right, I finally fitted them today, very hot a sweaty but the dash was softer in the heat.
These are the photos of the fitting and the tools I used.
May come in handy if anyone else wants to try.
