The steering on my 2002 range rover has been getting worse the tramling was scary as the car would try to change carriage ways! Any way i have checked all the usual suspects ball joints and so on and could not find any problems. i put a bilstein steering damper on which helped a little had the tracking checked ok. Any way i was about to sell it when i thought i would swap tyres front to rear OMG the car is transformed. The tyres on the front where still in really good shape and where pirelli scorpion STR the rears are scorpion S/T any way car is now great! with the S/T's on the front.

I've had the same problems over the years with my RR - a 1999 Vogue SE - I've found the tyres make a HUGE difference, as does the tyre pressure - I went through same pricey story of checking and replacing ball joints. steering damper, alignment etc etc and in the end it was all down to tyre choice and pressure.....mine runs best on Scorpion S/Ts I've found and if the pressure isn't quite right, the same scary tramlining thing starts all over again. I just put it down to a RR quirk (there seem to be lots of these!!!):eek:
