hiya mate

sorry but the old memory is terrible, did u buy a scond hand cruise ecu or a new one

as if u buy a second hand one it is already pre programed to work

normally on the paddles when u go over 30 mph , in touching the bottom paddle the light comes on then get to for example 60 mph then touch the top paddle then the cc should be active and can take ur foot off the accelerator pedal

hope that helps and plse let me know how u got on

thanks for the info I brought second hand , and believe it or not it worked for a short while this morning so going to try what you said , because when I switched it back on it would not work again, I was told yesterday it the same as the disco's plug and play.

hiya

ive also found that if for example u brake whilst the cruise control is on it will then deactivate and not come back on again,

i have to switch the master switch off then on , press the bottom paddle for the light to come on then press the top paddle to set speed then it reactivates

to be honest ive also heard other people having to do this

or whilst u are on cruise ie at 70 and wish to overtake a car and accelerate to 80 then take ur foot off again i think there is something like a 30 second time limit for it to go back onto the cc automatically ,if not i turn the master switch off then on and use paddles to reactivate cc

hopefully this makes sense

YIPEE I have it working just a little switch cleaner ,and it is all there but it is the same as you say GS, my old one you just switched it on and pull the paddle and yes if you brake it does knock the system off but that is they way it works, but I will test tomorrow to see if I can use the paddle to whitch it back on without using the master switch, the main switch I brought with the controls and ECU would not fit LR change the fitting in 2005 and it cost me another £55 to get the new switch BUT hey it is all working now and it will save my right leg as it gets a painful in one position.

But not the CC ones by the look of it:mad:

Its just the middle part thats come away and the clips are broke.....In fact all these parts wont stay in......Might still work thou, will have to try it.

It seems its getting to that age where all the plastics are getting so brittle, the slightest touch and they explode:violent:
