Raid 10 you need four drives. It stripes and mirrors. Closest thing you can get to failproof when it comes to HDs.

Does but easy to explain . Son is daily or weekly backup. father is weekly or monthly back up grandfather monthly or 3 monthly back up. Chose what order you want. You end up having multiple back ups of data and free up space for new work

The way it was done was 3 discs used in rotation, the days back up always done to the oldest one. We had smart software that only backed up files that had been changed on the day, so the backup did not take too long.Does but easy to explain . My backup setup was incremental I believe, but, it appears that I had NOT set everything to be backed up.
