Crazy lights

Hi I am a new member and have a problem with my freelander1 td4.The offside brake light will not work when the lights are on,but if you turn the lights off (or in daytime use) the brake light works fine.Can any one help with any ideas ?

Iffy bulb, bulb holder or earth connection maybe.

Most likely, as @hd3 says, it’ll be an electrical contact in the clusters somewhere.

Take it apart as if you were changing a lamp and check/clean all the contacts for all the lamps in each cluster.

If that doesn’t fix it, work out which is the common -ve in each cluster and put a wire between that and the vehicle bodywork (under a screw/bolt etc) to ensure a good earth for each cluster. Hopefully that will sort it.

Sounds like a wiring problem. Do you have any aftermarket lights installed such as fog lights? Maybe a previous owner did some diy work?
