Hi all,
I'm struggling with my Defender crank pulley.
Trying to do the cambelt, it seems someone has glued the pulley on with Loctite or similar.
I've got a three leg puller on it at the moment and have tried a hot air gun on the snout of the crank, but don't want to go too mad and wreck the damper rubber. Blowlamp might be next...
Any ideas?
Can you use the four M8 threaded holes in the pulley to mount a homemade puller on?
Failure is not an option, as they say!
Thanks,
Jim.

Same thoughts as Kwakerman,

I used the std kit off fleabay, had a puller in it that worked a treat. maybe someone near you has one you can use?

Cheers

Thanks, a flat plate bolted using those four holes and a sturdy bolt in the middle should do it then.

probably, just make sure the plate is very sturdy, and the 8mm bolts are good quality, I could see normal studding stripping.
