Right is it me or are they having a laugh...

1. Spares ordered online Monday afternoon
2. Paid extra for 'Next day delivery'
3. Parts turn up Wednesday (however order was late afternoon monday so will forgive em that as expected order would not be processed till Tuesday)
4. Parts missing from order, will follow in another day in first class post??
5. Why charge me for next day when only part of order arrived 'next day' and I cant do the job and get the vehicle back on the road as bits are missing.

I needed to get the job finished today... THATS WHY I PAID FOR NEXT DAY DELIVERY!!!!

They might as well have sent it all regular post as the job cannot be done until I have all the necessary bits....

A courtesy email to say sorry your order cannot be completed at least would have meant I could have tried to obtain the missing bits instead of waiting for parcel force at 20 to 5 and to discover its too late to go shopping for missing bolts!!!!

And they wrote on the note 3 of 4 bolts to follow... but still billed for 2 on this invoice and no doubt the missing 3 in tommorows package... hello Craddocks 2+3 =5 not the 4 ordered and eventually sent???

There complaints department will be getting a call asap tommorow

Rant over .... for now

Cheers Steve

They haven't delivered the order next day so you should get a refund on that bit - simple as.
If you NEED the items see above

Buy locally

New to the area and beleive Dingocroft is nearest (but still 40 minutes each way) and not paying main stealer prices...

normal bolts etc I have a good local ironmonger but wanted to get the correct spec for radius arms, trailing arms, A frame etc as I didnt want any risk of movement however slight, we all know how sensitive suspension can be to even slight wear / movement)

Cheers Steve

Count yourself lucky i have been waiting over a month and a half for a bit of carpet to go over the seat box. Nothing else turnd up on time eather the cubby box only turned up the other day. What use is a cubby box without the carpet to go underneeth it..

What I've learned from this thread is not to use Craddocks. Currently saving up to put a mega-order of toys in, worth about a grand. Unless some Craddocks rep can explain away their mistakes then unfortunately my trade will go elsewhere.

One of the best things about these forums is customer feedback. I don't mind paying a little extra for a product if I am certain it will be here when they say it will be here, or that they will bend over backwards to help me.

With Craddocks it's a shame, as they seemed very knowledgable in the shop and happy to help.

I certainly did have bad luck, I have phoned first thing this morning and it gets better...

me: Hi I ordered Monday for next day, it arrived Wednesday missing parts

JC: Yes , I can see the invoice and we notify customers if an order is incomplete

me: No you didnt, I only found out as I called to ask why the order hadnt arrived and got a throw away line at the end of , Oh and the rest will follow first class?

JC: Oh sorry about that (doesnt really help with my Landy in bits and having to source an alternate vehicle)

me: The remaining 3 bolts I was told were in the post have both arrived this morning... both as in 2 not the 3 i need

JC: Yes 2 in the original order and 2 following

me: no, original order showed 2 with 2 to follow, and someone at your end has crossed that out and physically written 3 to follow on the invoice

JC: oh but it says 2 on the screen (well thats prob because the storeman forgot to tip-ex the computer screen when my invoice was hand amended!!) We will look into it and check the shelf

me: What about the charge for next day as Im still missing goods 4 days later

JC: Well I will downgrade to normal postage (thankyou for that considering my order wasnt here 'next day')

All in all not good to date, I will give them until lunchtime to call me back at which point my pleasant and affable nature may have f***ed off.

Still I have learned a valuable lesson therefore it has not been a complete waste of time

Cheers Steve

I'm local to craddocks so never ordered over the net but the last few times I've popped in or called about parts and prices, it's always very short sharp answer and bad customer service, I'll never use them again

Use them a lot, did so when i was living abroad too, had an account and never a problem. Back here now and i wander thru to the workshop and ask questions, blokes all seem fine to me..maybe that geezer was on the blob?

Buy locally

As above, it's not just Craddocks, Paddocks or any of the big online/magazine ad suppliers, they're all pretty crap at getting complete, correct and on time orders out.
I'm very lucky to have an independent guy literally at the end of my road, I can even watch his Metallic Orange 110 (you know who you are Dave!!)go past me front window when I'm having brekky, so I know when he's in the workshop. 5 minute stroll to the end of the road and we can have nice, face to face chat about what I need to buy, and if it's not on the shelf, it WILL be in early next day. No order forms, typing in numbers, irate phone calls or even p+p to pay for. Cash on the hip, or even no cash and "sort it out later, we know where you live" and I'm away with every thing I need.
0% stress makes fixing yer landy so much easier.
My advise? Get to know your local supplier and actually receive the bits you need. You may pay a bit more, but as with the original post his lost items an cost of down time must be more.
