Crackling speakers.

Hi guys, I’m new to this forum so hello.

I’ve just bought a Freelander 2 HSE LUX from a trader and the speakers have started crackling really bad, between us we think it could be the amp. Has anyone else had this issue?

is it interference when you have the heated rear window on ,due to rear side windows
being heated and the aeriel being connected to drivers side window?.

Hi, no I dont think so. It’s odd it even happens when the engine is off.

Yeah, the trader who I bought it off has been has good as gold even offered me a refund. I just wish I knew what it was.

Is it only on radio, or on media playback too?

Radio and media but not on Bluetooth.

You don't have a cheap dash cam fitted do ya? Mine played havoc with the radio.

Have you checked for damp ingress in the doors ?

That's odd. It sounds like the HU has an issue, rather than the amp, speakers or wiring.

Has it been to an LR specialist to look at the issue?

The person who I bought it from claims it has, not so sure now. Would a full diagnostics test find the solution?

All sorted, thanks for everyone’s advice. Bought a new head unit, so far so good.
