Hi
I have just bought myself a 1992 disco 300tdi.
Last night went for a bit of a drive and found a green lane, not too sure where it was. it was out knowle way
It had a stream at the beggining and then went onto a very narrow rutted greenlane that was a bit "hardcore" for my first experiance, i got a few hundred yards down it then realised it was above my ability.
Anyway i really enjoyed it and wondered if anyone knows of any greenlanes out the coventry way that i can have a bit of a go at to break me in a bit , or would be willing to go out and show me around or let me tag along on one of your explorations!
I would really appriciate any help with this as i had a bit of a play last night and LOVED it!
cheers

Seriously, trust us on this one. I'm from down in Banbury. Almost every time I've been laning by myself it's ended up in disaster, that could have been avoided if there was another vehicle there. Do as I say not as I do  hahah. Welcome to the fold :p

ha tis true, to an extent. it depends on the type of lane and your own personal ability.

im ****e with uk geography (ok coventry geography coz i havent been there) but if you are really at a loss coz down here one weekend, and then tag along with some f the guys from herts or essex. if you are ok with waiting till end of december i would be happy to show you around places round here

just make sure you get some decent front recovery points like jate rings!

got a tow hitch on the back?

Yeah i agree, i would love to go with somebody that is experiance but its quite difficult finding people who are willing for a newbie to tag along and i dont really feel ready to go on any heavy off road bits yet as i would like to get a feel for whats the best way to drive off road as i havnt really done this kinda thing before lol and its a standard disco, apart from it needs some new tyres so im gunna get some semi off road type tyres. and then see what happens so i dont really think it is up to difficult lanes just yet lol
yeah it has got a tow bar and the standard towing eyes, thats all!
I think im going to take a trip over to liverage 4x4's in solihull on saturday, any one had any experiance of them?
cheers

I'm also new at this but have about 20 - 30 lanes under my belt now so if you ever wanna go out then pm me!

I've found going on my own is ok just get out and walk and if your unsure then dont do it. Also the only time i have been stuck in mine was when a friend got it stuck and i just made it worse trying to get it out.

Anyway i'm mostly free and dont live that far just down the m40!

A nice easy lane is Ridge Lane over towards Princethorpe. If you want any help or a day out laning PM me.

Where's this lane in pricethorpe? I'm new to all this and would like to start on something easy, done a couple of easy ones and fords, but on my own which I know is bait of a no no. I'm in rugby, are you local?

Hey matt, think we need to organise a local ish run about. What do you reckon?

And i remember mark saying that 110woman wanted to do a few local lanes. Did you do any 110?

Can organise something for after the 5th november if anyone wants?

There are still lots of lanes still to do over Lutterworth, Gilmorton and Market Harborough to do too.

So I think maybe a Rugby tour very soon.

I'll put one together.

Sorry again for hi jacking the thread again but I'm in Marcham and am always up for some laning, hoping to do some of Salisbury plain in the not to distant future so a pm either way would be good.
