Hi,

Now I have plenty of room under the bonnet of the car I noticed the main power from the battery goes to what looks like a distribution post on the started motor. I assume it will be ok to run another lead from there to a small fuesed distribution box on the bulk head for my spots, roof bar lights, I will run a cable to support 100amps and also a new earth lead back to the chssis. The roof bar is 6x18w or 8-9 amps ish, the spots are 2x55 watts or 8-9 amps ish. I'll hook these up with 26amp rated cable. This will give me a few spare fuded for other stuff. The fuse box is rated at 200amp and takes blade fuses so I'm ok there.

Also, I'm going to fit a rev counter, I pulled off the connector on the back of the alternator and it looks like two brown feed wires to supply power to the car and one brown and orange/fadid yellow connector which I guess is the power indicator to the dash (I'll connect another wire to this provide the power to a relay in the battery compartment as a split charge). I'll do a simple 110amph battery feed from the main alternator, I'll then run back from the battery box to another distribution box for the read lights and also for me radio which draws 26amps.

My question is, where is the feed for the rev counter? I'll go have a peek but I did not see another connector.

Pictures will arrive soon of the bits I'm yapping on about.

You can now get voltage sensitive relays for split charge systems so no need to mess with the alt etc.
