Bought my 1st 1.8 k series couple weeks ago with no tax or test.

Ive fixed prop and put back to 4wd and fitted engine mount.

The faults ive still to do is.

Flush the rad and refill with coolant.
Srs light on meed get it off.
Drivers side rear window doesnt go down on switch.

If any of you guys can help point me in right direction as i am also a discovery owner and this is something different to work on.

Don't know the answers to your questions but how did you fix the VCU, did you use Bells?
 
Forgot to say its.a.53 plate 1.8 serengetti k series engine has bin stood for few months before i bought it so for peace of mind i want flush the rad system if anyone can point me in right direction please
 
It was cheap. 300 quid and it is mint. Just want flush it out fory peace of mind. Im a disco man myself but the freelander is different wo askin for bit of help on where i look to flush it out n refil
 
Theres no drain plug, so you need to disconnect the bottom hose from the rad to drain it

Expansion tank cap off, heater on full, under tray off to get a container under the rad

To flush the rad just take the top hose off and run water in from a hose pipe until it runs clear from the bottom.

Refilling is an art ...two bleed screws to undo, watch the bubbles clear while you slowly re fill the system from the expansion tank - before you do though - take off the thin pipe from the expansion tank and give it a good blow down ..to free the jiggle valve ball bearing - in case its stuck.
