reet just to get a few things oot the way...im not a "boy racer" or a "ex corsa driving chav" i'm a 48 year old biker with a liking for the freelander.

OK then, i like to do a few cosmetic mods to my cars, but i have had a bit of stick by fellow bikers saying things like "its a tin can bud, why try and tart it up"

i like to do things like....

nice wheels, window tint, led lights etc.

im not much into engine mods, with the exception of after market air filters better spark plus.

so...what the general feeling/opinions of fellow freelander owners?

Well, some may mutter the word "rice" if there is only cosmetic mods but as long as they're functional I think go for it :). The MM4x4 light pod is nice if you can get the fecker to fit, and when somebody (;)) comes out with a nice looking non-drainpipe snorkel then that would add to it.

But if you're talking spoilers and bumpers, not so sure. Any inspiration you can show us?

Will.

Not my idea of a Freelander but this did a fellow member of the Freelander Club Belgium.

Quite like the air vents, would be better if they were designed for the FL1 from scratch. Those tints would get you pulled over all the time in the UK though, too dark. The wing mirrors look naff IMO.

Nice rims :).

Wouldnt look so rediculous if it had a decent snorkel top like a safari snorkel has, or the ****ty wannabe wheel hubs. That and the tints would be illegal over here

Hmm I bet I could design and make a nice set of fitted wing vents that flowed with the shape of the wheel arch a bit. Would have to be epoxy vacuum cast but that's not a problem using an ABS mimic. It's what I do after all ;).

I quite like the union jack LR badges on ebay. That will be a nice looking Hippo mate, I don't think you really need to go further than that ;). Light guards and nudge bar make them stand out from the crowd - hardly any facelifts with nudge bars around because LR charged £300 new for 'em !!!! Got mine for £30 delivered and it's gen LR!

i dont think i would go as far as the black one above, but i wold be very happy with new wheels, and roof rails.
if i could get my hands on a cheap pre face lift FL1 nudge bar or bull bar to match my side bars,, i could well be a happy bunny:D

Just keep watching ebay mate, one will come up. Or just save up if you can :).

Best bet is ebay, not a lot on there at the moment. You could try posting in the wanted section, someone might have 1 tucked away somewhere.

I think with all that bling it needs to be lowered,
as it would sit better with the overall look,
Fill the arches and make it a low rider.
