my new battery I had on last week is a Bosch s4 110 80 AH cost of £96 from Euro car parts I though it was bigger than that ,but in size it is very nearly as big as the battery tray so I can not see anybody getting a bigger AH than that on the tray. but may be I am wrong

The SPE is a right pain in the ass on the Hippo. It got right on my tits so the next time I was down in the Midlands I went down to a buddy of mine who is a LR Independant and borrowed his Test Book to disable it...it was a piece of cake to do and took all of 15 minutes max. and that included re-synching both keyfobs.
If you are thinking of having it done and only have one keyfob, get yourself another keyfob from a breaker before you get it done as the re-synch forms part of the procedure and you will have the spare fob ready to go. You will of course need a spare chipped key cut and programmed as well but this does not entail another session on diagnostics as the chip is programmed by the key cutter/locksmith.

No chip in my key but that has reminded me to get a spare cut, spe is a pain in the arris ill have to get it turned of at some point or fix the back door barrel..

In recent cold (scottish) weather the TD4 has been hard to start. Just fitted a Varta 110 F18 silver. 315mmx175mmx175mm. A bit of a tight fit as 37mm longer than standard 096 which is 278mmx175mmx175mm, but it does sit into battery tray. The difference in starting is unbelievable. 5 yr warranty and £94. A shade dearer but over 5 years well worth it.

See previous thread.
This is the Varta F18 in situ.
Fits in battery box with no cutting but no room to spare.
Box says it is 317mmx175mmx175mm.
