Copper washer for coolant drain plug on engine block - which way round?

Does anyone know which way round the copper washer for the coolant drain plug on the engine block goes? As per usual, the Haynes manual doesn't specify. I can provide a pic if need be.

James, I cannot thank you enough for that answer. I can finally tackle the job and not have to worry about making a silly mistake.

Out of curiosity, how did you find out because I searched all over the place before posting? Is these some sort of secret Landy fight club where info like this is disclosed?

I managed to take the bleed plug off the block and noticed something unusual. On the plug thread, beneath the copper washer, there appeared (and it might just by some muck) a worn rubber washer. Is there supposed ti be a rubber washer as well as the copper washer?

no its just whats left of some sealant someones used at one time

Thanks James. Out of interest, if I needed to, what type of sealant would be best to use please?

none is needed but rtv silicone or hylomar gasket sealants are fine

Is that RTC or RTV silicone James, because I have some RTV knocking around (not that I'll need it)?
