Copper fuel lines

was going to fit rubber fuel hose for my rebuild but a trip to the local boot sale today has seen me in possesion of 10metres of 8mm bore soft copper tube...... is there any reason it cannot be used as fuel pipe?, only reasons are it was cheap asnd will match all the brake pipes i've made

(sad i know lol )

and diesel systems use copper washers so cant see there being any probs but am open to advice

i often use 5/16 cunifer piping for fuel lines ,copper will be ok clipped nicely to chassis rails

no reason at all why you cant use it,i run oil supply's for boilers in copper, similar sort of thing

It is quite soft but is used and not seen a problem myself. There is a special bronze alloy pipe if you want to spend more. I cant remember what its called but a friend has it, he loves it, as easy as copper to work with but a lot tougher.

might need a bit of flexi pipe in engine bay (cos of vibration)

yep , i was gonna use a tail either end to isolate from vibration, slightly my fault but to clarify it is soft cunifer, ie copper / nickel, the same as brake pipe pipe..... bad habit calling it copper

lol nope 30 years of callin em copper brake lines lol... unusual for someone to use the right term lol even most sellers say 'copper brake line kit' force of habit...
