cooling system

hi just done a cooling systerm flush and renewed coolant left it running for about 20mins after i done all looks ok other than cant get the fans to cut in and the bottom hose from the rad is cold and the rad is also cold is this right or have i done somethink wrong i did take bleed screw out to bleed it haynes says thers two bleed screws i can only find the its a td4 02 temp gauge will only go half way and no more

poss an air lock?when i did mine i left running and every so often give the pipes a good sqeeze,you wont usally get the pipes hot at the top and bottom untill the thermostat has opened

ah ok every think else looks ok heater hot how do iu go about getting air lock out should i run it with out the cap on the expation bottle then sqeeze hoses
