Just a quick one for all you knowledgeable forum peeps!

My 99 4.6 hse that i have owned for about 2 months now,im wondering about a little issue i have with the coolant level.
After replacing the radiator, thermostat and water pump just after purchase(knew the water pump was leaking on purchase only found out about rad on closer inspection, did thermostat cos it seemed sensible whilst in bits) after bleeding and testing found cooland level dropping!
after several top ups i have noticed that the level is about an inch below the cold level when engine is a little warm(about an hour after being turned off)but next morning its spot on the level!!Am i going mad or is this how rangies are??Im thinking i may have been topping up a warm engine then its venting excess the next day!! Any thoughts appreciated!

I must admit my old p38 had similar anomalies when it came to coolant levels, so I guess it's normal. If its at cold level when cold I wouldn't be worried about it. You're going to be tested a lot more in the coming years of ownership :)

So far(fingers crossed and lots of other parts) the v8 beast has behaved herself!!! Im used to unreliable cars! my other half who drives the rangie daily also has an MGF!!!!
I love doing work on cars that i own,the pleasure of, not paying rediculous houly rates to a garage feels great!! im just in the middle of replacing the cat and lambda sensor on said MGF,So far it has cost me £70 in parts and a small amount of blood and sweat!! but i take greay satifaction in the fact that i have done the work after i have home home from work!!!!:D
Hope to do lots more to my rangie in the near future( she needs a new rear airbag,so im goin to do all four.and the shocks as well)

Shocks are a **** of pee. You should have them all done in about 45 minutes.
