Red light on the dash was glowing tonight...

So put a tester on the battery, 16 volts going in on tickover :(

What are the likely causes of this?

Series 3, daihatsu 2.8TD inc Daihatsu Alt and voltage reg...

Tried two testers on it, both say the same. It was fine before the fan ripped the rad.
Now when running ALL the lights appear really bright, even the dash warning lights etc.

Methinks the voltage reg is the most likely cause so will change that today and see how it goes....

Feckin Land Rovers doing me head in, esp as the engine swap was pretty easy.

Been round the scrappys, cant get a reg at all....

Daihatsu use a seperate reg, unlike LR that use the reg in the alt.

Daihatsu alt has a oil feed to it as it also houses the vac pump, so methinks i am going to get a bypass hose made up and then fit the Landy alt. BUT the pulley is too narrow for the Daihatsu fan belt, simple probs but this bloody vehicle is doing me nut, esp as the MOT is 4 weeks away!!!
