When engine oil mixes with engine coolant it turns creamy in colour.

What colour will the engine coolant turn if it mixes with LRN402 Jatco auto gearbox oil?

Just wondering.

It would depend on your ATF and your coolant. I am pretty sure someone of your experience thought of mixing them yourself in small quantities in a small container?

Feel free to let us know what that colour turns out, I am very curious.

Oil in the water looks very different to water in the oil. This is because of the different environments both systems have. Water in the oil is emulsified due to the high pressure, temperature and speed of moving components. This causes it to take on a creamy consistency and appearance.
Oil in the water looks very different. It doesn't emulsify, the oil tends to float on top or travel round the system in oil bubbles.

Thanks. I was wondering why it turned cream and thought about the rollercoaster mixing it gets going round the engine but wasn't sure. I've mixed oil it water before and left it for a while and it separated. I won't do the test now as this is the conformation I needed.

If you simply mix oil and water, the oil will float on top. This is pretty much what happens to oil in the coolant.

If you mixed the same ratio and put it into the sump, the action of fast moving crank and rods, high pressure produced by the pump and high temperature would emulsify the mixture very quickly. It's so thoroughly mixed it will pretty much never separate.
