I think I may have to seriously look at converting my V8 to gas. I have no idea where to start though. My Landy is a second car, he's a 1988 3.5 V8 90 in Merseyside. I know I'll lose space in the back for the tank (which is chequer plated),
Any suggestions?
Keep a look out on e-bay for a kit?
Any ideas as to the costs involved?

I'd appreciate any help.

depends on what you want to pay ,but you can pick up second hand single point for next to nothing now ,kit only consists of tank, plastic covered brake piping ,vapouriser and gas ring for manifold ,solenoids usually come with tank and vapouriser ,you can wire it to switch ecu off if efi or solenoid in fuel line for carb not the most efficient but cheap and effective ,obviously if you can put gas through manifold and seperate piping to point near the inlet valve (sequential )so much the better, big bore hydraulic hose makes for quicker filling, the vapourisers can be bought new for£100 the better they are the better the system

You do not have to lose the load space. My conversion has two small tanks, both fitted underneath, one at the rear and one under the passenger seat.

It is a really simple installation, has the usual problem that to switch over you have to starve the carbs of fuel then switch.

In the summer months I leave it on LPG and start up on it.
