Constant rear washer

Hi, wondered whether anyone can help. Only had the RR for 6 weeks and i'm slowly working my way through the common faults and thought i was getting there. Out for a drive today and my rear washer (which has never worked) suddenly came on and wouldnt go off (even with the key out). I ended up pulling the maxi fuse 5 to stop it. Any ideas.

Rear screen wash/wipe is switched and controlled from BECM internally. No separate relays like front screen and headlamps. You may have a big problem there. Maybe dampness in BECM. But if it was you could possibly expect more than just the rear wash/wipe to be effected.

Thanks both. But no smells and no other problems (as yet). When i replaced the maxi fuse everything worked again. I'm just putting it down to a short of some kind due to the heavy snow. I'm now getting a low washer bottle warning but im afraid to re fill it just in case it starts back up!!!!!

I dont think so. I tried that first of all and it didnt appear to be stuck in. Although now its stopped i'm begining to think it may be. As Wammers said, if it was a problem within the BECM i would expect more than just a faulty washer and i wouldnt expect it to clear.

You might be able to see the outer switch resuming its position but you can not see inside only testing switch circuit would Identify a constant release
