A 4.6 (Bosch, I think they said?) Vogue has come up on my FB marketplace feed...looks brilliant, like it’s only ever been used as an Essex town car, and not a whiff of off road, or having led a hard life.

However, it’s got 176k on it. They’re asking £1800, but I’d get that lower.

With this mileage, am I being stupid and should look elsewhere? It’s been converted to coils, if that makes any difference.

The reg is V702ELL , if you want to run it through https://www.gov.uk/check-mot-history and anything jumps out I should be wary of.

Thanks in advance!

Boinging alert!!!
It would depend on the amount of history that comes with it.
If it's brilliantly documented then maybe yes. But then also with that sort of mileage a lot of the heavy gear underneath "may"
need to be gone over.
thinking-face_1f914.png but if you like a challenge.:D

Going to give it a miss! Spoke to my LR specialist garage today about it, and he said steer clear. I’ve trusted him completely for almost 15 years now, so I’m walking away from this vehicle.

Good call. There are loads out there, you'll find the right girl for you ;)

Springs = it has been maintained on a shoe string.

As for the mileage, it depends!

My 186k D2 drives better than a 93k RRC i had in terms of drivetrain!

Look for a proper one eh?!

Loads of P38 coming out of the woodwork at the moment.... tidy one near me struggled to make £400, peeps skint after hols, new School uniforms and bracing themselves for B.... BBBB.... nah, can't say it! Global warming might give us some wet Winters, around me they make good snow ploughs but been a bit redundant for the last two, reason I sold my last RR, just got used for School run.
What is with the sudden popularity, had a few peaches and never paid more than £750? Is it due to the demise of diesel and a shortage of petrol 4x4 under a few grand?

Diesel will be around for a while. Biggest laugh will be when a lot have electric cars that run out of charge, then the AA arrive with diesel generator in the back of the van to charge them. :D

I think the new MOT regs killed a few older diesels. The diesel car market has taken a massive dive, I had no problem selling my X-Trail 2.5 petrol and V6 shogun for full asking price, you'll be surprised how many buyers are twitching when it comes to diesel. One of my Customers turned up in a brand new electric Jaaaaaaaaaag and preceded to bang on about free motoring etc.. etc.. didn't have the heart to tell him that the Exchequer was going to load fixed £100 road tax on new lecky vehicles and that will probably increase as more cars hit the roads, bit like the lpg market, the Government may be slow to catch on but they soon make up for it. I think it was a "diesel van with a petrol generator to charge an electric car?" Mark my words.... electricity theft will be on the increase, you'll see rows of Pre... Prius... Premus... Toyotas, down country lanes nicking power from sub stations and street lights. My mate gets free power for his Tesla where ever he goes..... the car cost him £110,000, I would expect fine champagne and a back rub whilst I waited for that kinda money, irony is that he still has to keep a fossil fuel car as he can't rely on the Tesla being charged enough for its 170 mile range, cheaper to run an old RR and better for the environment.

The indicators are that diesel vehicles will be hit hard in the next couple of years, especially if Mr Johnson stays in! Don't be surprised if things are speeded up a bit, 2040 for all fossil fuels but I can see diesel going long before that. The only user group to put up a fight will be Commercial. I haven't heard any protests from the motoring public about phasing out diesels, if anything there seems to be an acceptance. The only press was concerned with VW fiddling their figures and then it was used as evidence as to why diesels need to go "PDQ." Sorry to say the snowball effect has already started so start hiding your 200 and 300tdi's.

Convert now to vegetable oil - repent later ;)
There are good alternatives to diesel but it's all about Politics and Commerce, someone will get rich from all this! Probably Dyson, battery technology is where the money will be made. The greenest thing we can do is reuse our vehicles and keep them well maintained, stop new cars coming onto the market plus better Public transport, almost forgot, get the rest of the World to do the same. I blame plastic drinking straws! Owning a dog has a bigger carbon footprint than a large 4x4...... ban dog ownership?

:eek::eek::eek::eek:

More chance of me towing my P38 around with a £110,000 Tesla
Can see it now, Land Rover classics show 2041. Big business doing electric motor swops, I would have to have a 4.4 v8 exhaust recording to play as I am dragged in behind a milk float. Oh ****! I will probably still be a live then if I stay off the fags! We will all be wearing jumpsuits made from recycled straws.

Nothing to do with new MOT regs. Engines both petrol and diesel are tested subject to the regulations applicable at time of manufacture. New stricter regs do not apply to older engines.

Must just be my local tester who has to check for tampered CATS and blanked EGR? That's the change that has caught older oil burners.
