Should the hole in the white connector be there? It's a 2001 v6 Freelander 1. The connector plugs into the air intake pipe going into the acoustic cover, which houses the air intake filter.

Not sure if it's man made, or man made then deformed. Had a bit of a battery leak some years ago when orf road. Stealer topped the battery up too much and it leaked when on a slope. So I wsas thinking the hole or at least any deformed bit could be due to that.

Any v6 owners fancy having a quick look to see if there connector has a hole in it?

Thanks. It's pushed in as far as it seems to go. I assume it's connected to a sensor to monitor the air intake inside the rubber pipe it's fitted to.

Thanks for that. I'll put that on the list of things to order. Still not sure how the hole got there.

Not sure where it's connected, but will report back when I've had a look.

Found the little ****er. To buy it you have to buy part 16 on this ere parts list. Costs about £95+vat. The connector I need is at the end of the pipe below the bracket number 18, in the drawing.

Land Rover parts

So it looks like I will be sorting out me own fix at that price. Part number is LKW000040 for the whole tube thing complete with connector. It's something to do with the brakes. Says: Valve assembly - vacuum control, which is in the master cylinder and brake booster section, in the microcat parts catalogue.
