Good evening,

The long run that I took me landy on earlier seems to have done a world of good! I emptied a 0.5 litre bottle of diesel additive into the tank the day before and I have noticed a massive improvement. The run from Leeds to Durham was a little slow, 50, 55 tops, but coming back she was reaching 70 without any hassle (this is a 2.5 N/A 90 with fat tyres with the weight of three people we're talking about here) and it's not really downhill either!

There was one or two points on the run coming back, the main one being a small incline when it completely lost power and dipped under 50mph and stayed low for half a mile or so on the flat. It then perked up again, and hit 70 within a good 15 seconds. What could be causing this? I am going to check my fuel filter tomorrow for bits of crap which the additive may have washed up, but is there another likely cause i.e. a dogey throttle link?

After some testing it is also looking like I am acheiving a good 31.05 mpg at the moment too, but a couple more tests should verify that :)

Anyways, any ideas about the odd little stretch of power loss?

Thanks

it didn't do it on every hill though that's the strange thing about it! It had been pulling up bigger and longer inclines at 60-62mph, just this one it seemed to drop right down to 50(ish) and hovver there for a bit on the flat too. (Nothing to do with my foot)

The diesel additive is not really going to pull up crap from the tank side of the fuel system, it cleans the injection pump and injectors more than anything else and any crap gets burnt off.

I'm still very impressed none the less! It's had a good blast and I'm hoping that it's burnt a lot of crap out of the system :)
