Hello, had my Disco about a 6 weeks now, but a bit cofused on the rear lights:confused:

All works fine, but some I have seen have the lights on the rear bumper and on the pillar, and 2 sets of indicators. (pillar and bumper), so at night they have 4 lights on.

The only lights that work on my pillars are the brakes, reverse and fogs. Is this correct?

I noticed that the brakes are stop and tail bulbs.

Is mine correct, and is there a mod to get them working?

Thanks, Ian,:)

It all depends on your disco's model year on what rear light setup you have. If u don't have the amber segment on the upper lamps then that's correct' for the year.

If u have the segment, and it's not working u need to find out why.

You have the 300 with no indicator (amber section) indicator is in bumper, these are correct, as in how it came out of showroom

If you want both just change the body units for 200 Tdi ones

do a search this has been covered loads on here, wiring diagrams and how to's

Hi Ian
I can see your shiney disco is a 1998MY disco one of the last.. that year didn't have the amber segment.
When the new 300 series was introduced the indicator was now installed in the bumper as Land Rover found out the an open rear door restricted the view of the o/s lamps, but no one liked the bumper indicators and Land Rover reverted to the earlier type of main lamp incorporating the indicator but leaving the bumper mounted lamps as an insurance policy.

So my 1997 model has them and so did 1996 out of factory, but why they reverted to your setup on the last D1's no one knows.
