Sat at work at the mo as I'm on the late bash tonight. Managed to fit the head lining, overhead console and light finial this morning but it looks a bit girley. To man it up a bit I've ordered some size 12 torx security self tappers in stainles. Was happy to hide the fixings but these bad boys should look the dogs surface mounted.
I'll bash a few pics up when I've screwed em in.

Also found an old bendy work lamp for fly tying. That's now going to be a short stem bendy map light so the passenger can see the rain water pouring onto his lap.

What a week. Work work work and no tinkering. Also had a fight to keep my job as our accident investigator is a cock. But thats another story.

Got a week off so should get lots done and more dross to post.

have you been mowing down cyclists :D

No more crosses on my cab door but one tries............. :D

Had a pack of screws delivered the other day and cant find the damn things anywhere. Ive got that much tat round the house waiting for time to fit it, I need some new safe places to put things.

Well having a week off work to play with my toy just aint worked out. After decorating the daughters bedroom and fitting a few radiator stats round the house I have only managed to play with a bit of plastic for a new switch panel up till today. I was going to do all manner of exquisite upgrades today but whilst stood ogling the filthy lines of my masturbatory series I decided enough was enough and changed the rear hub oil seals.
Just sick of oil on the wheels. I did manage to undercoat them at the same time ready for a slosh of limestone in the morning.

Painted t'wheels before the rain and investigated a new noise. Water pump rattling like an octogenarians hip. 'Will it never end'. Hope not. :D
Lets have a few Photies while I'm at it.

It looks a bit like this at the mo. The clock and fuel level gauges are in and the map light.

The cab ceiling is covered with the Nicaraguan gnat pelt and the light is fitted but not wired in as yet (waiting for my switch panel to return from the vinyl wrappers).

From the drivers side you can see the clocks and the illuminated switches (when fabricated), at the moment you only see the growing bundle of cabling.

And from the passenger side there is a row of LED displays monitoring (from left to right) Battery 1 voltage, Battery 2 voltage, Coolant temperature and Amps.
This little lot will be switchable so as not to send the passenger into an epileptic coma.

So far so good but lots to do. The switch panel is a sheet of 6mm red perspex with holes drilled in it for the push buttons. This is being covered by a sign company at the moment with vinyl wrap. Once the cut out lettering has been picked off and the sheet back lit I'm hoping it looks a bit like this.

It would be for me but I'm fat and sink down through the seat foam until I'm on the seat box. :(

Speaking of seats. Its time to start looking for something to reupholster. I believe smart car seats are good for a series but I'm not a ickle lad so might need something a little larger.

The more I look at individual seats the more I want a bench seat. I will get my stinking cap on and pencil some creations. I'm sure something will unveil itself.

With three deluxe seats in the front its basically a bench seat so cant be too hard to rig up. however you would possibly have to have it easily removable to use the storage tubs beneath the seats and to check the gearbox and things under the middle seat.

PS :pve your interior by the way! Its gorgeous, will be the best trimmed series around, be like a cart sprung range rover! Will you be fitting parabolics to give it a more supple ride too?

It had diabolics when I stole it.
Unfortunately all the bushes are shot (new ones in mi shed) so it's like riding a mule at the moment. With that and old shocks, a wonky water pump, blowing manifold and loose ball swivels I should be getting mucky not furting around with wild Caladonian haggis hide.
Ah well, the MOTs not due for ten months.

I have smart car seats in my disco and wasn't a small lad, 6'2" and 21+ stone and they are fine, don't discard the idea for the sake of not trying em out first. On a another plus side they are also cheap as chips to buy

Im not one for scrap yards and flea bay seem to want a lot of brass for smart seats. How much should I be paying for them.

I paid 160 Polish zloty for mine for the pair so maybe I'm not your man for UK prices but I know @vilguy buys loads of em, he loves them and puts them in just about everything he drives, so maybe he's your man for UK prices.
