condenser fan

the condenser fan on my is on all the time even when i turn it off from the air con unit in side. it all stated when it overheated from a split hose and now its always on. i pulled out the relay and it stopped and changed it with a nother one and as soon as i put it in it started up again. it only comes on when the engine is running any ideas why it still runs and how can i stop it.

i think the fans are automatically controlled when the aircon is switched on so it might be your switch that is dicky, usually the fans are controlled by a pressure switch but the press switch on these aparently only disengages/re-engages the compressor clutch

just a thought, but did you take off the 2 wiring plugs from under the thermostat housing ? if so did you put them back on the right connector. Try changing them over with each other. I read somewhere someone had the same problem with theirs.
