I order a compressor, use it for a few weeks, and its not working, they tell me to keep it, and send a replacement, after a year, its broken, they send another replacement, I send the 2 broken ones back, they have now sent me yet another replacement...... and a refund!!!!!
I now have 2 new ones, and the money back.... but they wont last!! :)

Pete has sussed out, they have bigger pistons, generating more air into the system, but he suspects they have left the motor the same size so its over working, so burning out faster or over heating

what make are they, is it a dealer selling them?
i will have to order one so i get three free ones :D

Yes, the motor is definitely working harder to pump the bigger diameter piston, and gets much warmer than the standard pump. Also the thermal cutout is wire-ended and not fixed to the PCB, plus it's sleeved in plastic that insulates it from the housing . . . not sure what the heat sensing performance is like this.

If they had vented the motor, and added a seal on the crank bearing, it would probably help loads. The fins around the outer barrel are basically useless, as the cylinder liner is just a slightly larger version of the Dunlop one, with minimal heat transfer to the outer case.

I reckon a second-hand standard pump, plus a few rebuild kits, is a much better investment.

Be interesting to see if you can get a heat sink for it. A bigger piston would be a bonus.

I might just buy one and have a play as mine is acting up again. (guy who fitted the airbags got it set up wrong and pump ran all the time killing the piston seal. It works but slowly)
I'd really like a higher volume pump but the aftermarket ones are really expensive.

I removed the Thomas 327 and replaced it with the stock compressor. The Thomas needs a new cylinder/sleeve and piston ring, and until I can find a source for them I will have to make do with the standard unit.

In this case the pump heats up quite quickly, and takes a lot longer to cool down again. Would need a massive heatsink to allow it to cool at the required rate. Large enough fins & airflow might help, but then there would be extra noise.
 
Yes, NRV-1 in the valve block !!
