If you had a high street unit working then you do not have the harmon amp and speaker set up, unless someone has bypassed the door amps. If you have bought a pu9836 then it can only work with the harmon amps. As I said before the pu9837 has a built in amP but no autochanger control, the 9836 does not, both have two aerial inputs, one is fm/am(black) the red is fm only. Both aerials need power as they are "active" aerials. Having worked on the p38 clarion set up, hopefully I can assist.

Thanks will see what hubby can sort with aeriels etc as reception is very poor - never had this with any of previous factory fitted or aftermarket radios so your advice is great - really can't stand white noise !!!

I can recommend a real wizard on Rangy radios/stereos etc....He's a Landyzone member by the name of Paul Clark (Clarky130) lives in Wiltshire.......absolute genius with sound systems. He makes his own "magic gizmos" to enable any make of head-unit to be fitted to Range Rovers. He fitted my P38 with a new top of the range Kenwood system with CD & ipod dock in an hour outside his house. It made the stacking unit obsolete, and wow....what a sound I get through my Harman Kardon amps!!! A great guy and fully recommended....
