Comet Alloys - what's a fair price?

Evening,

Local breakers has a set of 5 Comet alloys in with tyres that are only fit for scrap. I think the alloys might also want refurbing, which is probably going to add significantly to the overall cost.

I want these for my S spec Discovery TD5. What do you reckon is a fair price given the refurb costs (around £250) and tyres (£550 for some decent rubber)? I was thinking £100 max given that they're not even usable in their current state...

Have you had a look on ebay?

i sold mine, ive been buying slowly as they have been listed the spares! managed to get a full set with new tyres for £150, or you can get a good set with tyres for around £200 and may not need a refurb!

I've had a look, but there don't seem to be too many good sets out there at the moment. Either the wheels are knackered or there's 2.5mm of tread on all the tyres.

£150 for a set with some reasonable rubber left seems like a bargain though - well done!

you have to look at all factors when searching, ie landrover alloys, discovery alloys, 255/65 16 etc, good luck!

I have to admit I'd been lazy with my search terms. Will broaden them out in the search for a bargain set!
