my bro has his own body shop and i know when i had mine painted he had to buy a special primer for the plastic,id get you a quote but im in brum.

no worries
,is he in brum too?

anyone else on here know of a rough price ??

also looking for a nice set of secondhand alloys as my 16 inchers are letting the car down in the style dept,

cheers

The plastic primer is not expensive, nor difficult to come by, and it works well too - I did my grill with it using a matt black top coat.

If you have the silver paint and laquer as aerosols then it can be done in your garage, assuming you are a dab hand with an aerosol can!

is there alot of sanding down prep work etc beforehand,
i feel to try it myself but abit paranoid about making them look worse as i will cry ,all else fails i need to find a graffiti artist to help me,

I cleaned it with soapy water, then petrol, then let it dry. No sanding required as the surface is rough already. May not sound like the best preparation, however it worked a treat!

Silver could be a bit unforgiving I suppose, try it out on a small panel to start with, maybe the detachable bumper skirts.

thanks m8 for your advice but unfortunatly a spanner has been thrown in the works ,had a big oil leak today gutted just as it was all going good, is that normal with a range as its my first .im a vw man love 'em.

cheers

thanks rich problem is there to far away from me m8,cheers tho ,i have been on the ebay sifting through tons of alloy ads lately but just waiting to find decnt set a bit closer to home.
