Hi My P38 was difficult to hot start when I had it (5 years ago) so I fitted the timed hot start kit. Last year I had some problems starting when it had been stood for a while so changed the leak offs to silicon ones and added a non return valve and all was well. I also changed the glow plugs. Last week it began to get difficult to start in the morning but once started it was fine all day. Now it won't start at all. It seems to fire but not quite catch. The local garage started it with jump leads and carb cleaner. They had a look and say the FIP top gasket is leaking and have ordered the seal for it. Is this likely to be the problem or is it more likely to need a replacement FIP or at least retiming as it's now done 180,000 miles.
