hello i wonder if anyone can give me some advice here .
my problem is my suspension on my landrover is far too hard .
the landrover is a series 2a on a designer coil sprung chassis , its a 88 inch wheelbase truck cab , its got a roll cage , it has a ford v6 engine and lt77 gearbox . the axles are from a discovery the coils on it at the min are as far as i know standard 90 ones but these are far too stiff ,
its not used for towing or carrying any load so if anyone can advise me that will be good .
thanks carl .

However your Landy has got to its current configuration, you don't say what is "designer" about the chassis. Presumably the chassis geometry was set up for Land Rover coil springs, and if they are too hard, the best thing you can do is talk to a spring specialist or manufacturer.

You could of course try other types of spring through trial and error, but not on a public road as fitting springs which are wildly incompatible with your vehicle can be very dangerous to you and other road users. Obvious choices would be saloon car springs of the same height/ outer diameter.

well thanks for serious replies .
as for identity bought off ebay no . ive owned this car in one form or another for over 25 years also did i say it was used on the road ?
all i wanted was friendly advice from someone i thought might know more than me .
when i first came on here i asked if it was for purists the answer was no so sounds like that was wrong .

It is also not for thieves or ringers.

And when someone comes on with a landy made from 5 different landy's and gives very little information on Tax status, Q plate etc.

So you can understand the suspicion

well its not stolen ive owned it for years ,
the reason for changing the chassis was i was fed up of welding the old one up every year and wanted a softer ride too . (not that soft though)
i also changed the gearbox because i thought a newer one would have more chance of coping with the v6 .
so there you go im not a theif if i want something i work to get it just like i have with all my motorcycles .

Do you pay road tax on it?

Is it on a Q plate?

Because youve changed Engine, Gbox, Chassis, Axles etc i dnt think you kept enough points to use original Number plate?
