My father-in-law has got some replacement coil springs for his Range Rover
fitted by a friend of a friend. However, the machine now has a severe list
to starboard (drivers side low for the non-nautical) and I'm thinking that
the springs have been fitted into the wrong places. The springs are marked
with dabs of coloured paint on the coils and I wondered if anyone could
identify them (and the correct fitting position) for me. There are two with
just a green dab of paint (fitted to the front left and right), one with a
red dab (rear passenger side) and one with a red and white dab (rear drivers
side). Obviously as they're fitted I can't check the free-length without
removing them and it's difficult to count the number of coils in-situ. Does
anyone recognise the colour codes? Also, it seems from the colours that
both fronts are the same. I know that a Series Landrover has taller springs
on the drivers side, so maybe the off-side front is wrong?

TIA, Steve

It seems to be well put together.

I think, from what I see there, that there are two standard rears on the
front (the single greens), one heavy duty rear (the red/white) on the rear
off-side and one unknown (red) on the nearside rear. I'm trying to work out
in my head how a harder spring on the right rear would make it lean to the
right though. It's definitely only a single red dab, not a double red (aka
110 rear drivers side). Bit confusing!
