Coil from Punto 1.2 For my V8 Thor? Will it work? Wont put me hand in me pocket.. ;)

Hello all, I have a dodgy coil, Giving me no spark on bank 7, Now aftermarket coils are cheap for £25 but i am so tight i wont pay it, Especially when these £25 disco 2 v8 coils fit punto 1.2's 1.4's Bravos and bravas of the same engine, I am not very good with electricals on the cars but i am thinking these coils offer the same voltage/resistance whatever you wanna call it hence they fit the list of cars, So can i go down the local scrappy and raid a punto? Yay or Nay? Eurocarparts gives the same part no for a disco 2 v8 coilpack and a punto 1200 16v coilpack.. Seems right, Is it...? Thanks alot. ;)

Well they must be, i cant see any reason why it would make a difference, They are the same par no. on ebay and eurocarparts and that was the only two places i checked. They are identical to look at aswell, I will let you know, Been reading up on your coil woes!
 
The 4.0 V8 just uses 2 x 4-cyl coil packs.

The same coil pack is used on a lot of different cars.

Apart from the Ferraris and Lancias, you shouldn't have problems finding most of the above in a scrappy.

Well after ripping my arms to bits and killing my back in the process i managed to swap the faulty coil with one from a 1.4 fiat bravo, (The only one left in the scrappy with a coil on..!) Had to even modify a ht lead from the bravo to fit my disco as i ripped the other one in half! Fook me it worked!! Car is running on all eight now and instead of the lumpy sound when revving i get the sweet music ive always longed for... Only cost a tenner aswell, Exact same bosch units.... Happy days! ;) Bumper then mot time.. I only paid £1300 for it, Front ended, Rear was on the deck, I stripped the wabco and unsiezed it, (I am a tightarse) Caught a pair of facelift lamps for £80, fitted them nicely, Repaired the bonnet and grill, Wing for £55 and 2nd hand bumper for £80 so its cost me £1500 for a facelift v8 es and the engine is sweet as a nut, In fact i think its had the heads done because the block faces are shiney as hell... WOOHOO..! Anybody see it on ebay a few months ago for £1600? ;)

If anyone needs a coil, Theres a new one on ebay for a tenner.. 220649846812
