Coil conversion - What was I thinking. New pump and 4 new bags and I'm all good

Both my P38's and all the other blocks & compressors I have seen are 6mm airline with BSP collet fittings each end. I doubt 8mm pipe would make much difference, because the air still has to go through small galleries in the block.

Besides, 6mm pipe maximum flow rate far exceeds what the 0.5 CFM pump can deliver !!

Mine is certainly 6mn from the compressor. I purchased some 6mm pipe and fittings prior to swapping out the compressor fitting so now have no need for them 😕

I'm just waiting for a delivery of the air bags and I'll be good to go

I've not the luxury of a Garage Compressor sadly. Only the bog standard tyre inflator for the wheels. However, new pump will be here on Tuesday.

I have indeed ordered a repair kit so I will refurb the old and add it to my spares box.

That'll do with an emergency inflation kit. Don't get the T piece ones. Straight connectors with valves and make sure they don't leak.

That's a good price. My issue was that I live in the Republic of Ireland which means having to pay import taxes as well as shipping

Made in China so I imagine there's a stockist somewhere in Eire or EU? Failing that, Arnott 2 are made in the EU although I think Dunlop ate more reliable these days, even if they are made under licence in China.

But you have to remember you don't pay the VAT on the goods, just the import duties which usually equal out. Many UK suppliers have got their act together and do "to your door" delivery where they deal with the paperwork so its just like it used to be, and to be honest the prices are about what they used to be.
postage is the thing, which is something we have to live with.
